Our Largemouth Bass Cull Stick lets you know which bass to keep and which ones to release back into the water. Made with corrosion-resistant aluminum and a UV-resistant sticker, keep this measuring stick on your dock or in your boat to better manage your largemouth bass populations.
To use, simply place the largemouth bass on the cull stick with the mouth of the fish touching the front plate. If your fish is below the weight listed above the corresponding length of the fish, remove the fish from the pond and enjoy some delicious bass fillets! If the fish is above the weight listed for that length, release it into the water so it can continue to grow.

The Largemouth Bass Cull Stick is a great tool to help you better manage the largemouth bass population in your pond or lake. The goal when managing any largemouth bass population is to promote the reproduction of large, healthy fish so that those genes persist in the population. This management approach involves removing fish with poor health and releasing the healthy fish back into the pond so they can continue to reproduce.
The Largemouth Bass Cull Stick uses "standard weights" for largemouth bass to determine whether a bass is healthy. The standard weight is a baseline measurement that determines what a healthy largemouth bass of a certain length should weigh. If the weight of a largemouth bass is within 90% of the standard weight for that length, it is considered healthy and should be safely released into the pond. If the weight of a largemouth bass is below 90% of the standard weight for that length, it should be culled from the pond.
Using the Largemouth Bass Cull Stick
Our Largemouth Bass Cull Stick is a corrosion-resistant, aluminum measuring stick that includes inch increments from 8" to 24" along a UV resistant sticker. For each inch increment along the ruler, there is a weight listed in pounds. This weight represents 90% of the standard weight for the particular length of largemouth bass. It is important to note that these numbers are for largemouth bass only. Standard weight values per length will vary depending on the fish species.
To use the cull stick, place the largemouth bass on the ruler with the tip of the head against the front plate. Note the length of the fish and the corresponding weight listed for that length. Weigh the largemouth bass to see if it is above or below that 90% standard weight threshold. If it's significantly below that number, cull the fish and enjoy some delicious bass fillets. If the largemouth bass weight is above that number, safely release it into the pond so it can continue to reproduce.
